Drive-Ride and Walk is a volunteer project addressing the day-to-day routine of getting safely from here to there.

The Drive-Ride and Walk student portfolio exchange closed in May 2013. It was a team collaboration project for Iowa college students to share career portfolios and knowledge from classes, jobs, and other activities with the purpose of creating transportation safety programming for their peers.

Revisit traffic safety information focusing on distracted and impaired driving, safety belts, and speed. Develop traffic safety themes and messages for social media and campus activities.

Fall 2012

Objectives:

1. Examine current & credible transportation safety information.

2. Identify missing conversations.

3. Determine safety messages for social media, items & events.

4. Plan & implement October impaired driving awareness event.

5. Develop safety awareness overview.

6. Report on experience.

Summer 2011

Objectives:

Design Team Collaboration

1. Gather information about audience.

2. Discuss current traffic safety issues.

3. Work with Google docs.

4. Collect credible crash data.

5. Determine safety messages & design T-shirts.

6. Create visuals for table display.

7. Report on 7 week experience.

Summer 2010

Objectives:

Face-to-Face Exchange

1. Gather information about audience.

2. Discuss current issues.

3. Develop online programming.

4. Work with Gmail & Google Docs.

5. Determine messages for August welcome event.

6. Create activity for August booth.
